Understanding Knife Dimensions Before You Order

Illustrative collection artwork.
Two knives can look similar in a photograph while feeling very different in scale. Clear measurements help you compare products and explain a custom request without relying on perspective in an image.
Separate blade length from overall length
Blade length and overall length describe different parts of the knife. Ask how a measurement has been taken if the listing is unclear. In a custom brief, label both measurements rather than supplying a single number called size.
Use one unit consistently
Choose inches, centimetres or millimetres and state the unit alongside each measurement. Avoid mixing units in an unlabelled sketch. Our enquiry form includes a unit selector to keep the dimensions together.
Add a reference you understand
Compare the proposed dimensions with an existing knife you know, or make a simple paper outline to understand the scale. A reference image communicates shape, but it does not establish reliable dimensions on its own.
Confirm the final specification
Before agreeing a custom order, review the dimensions alongside the handle, materials and sheath. If a size is essential for your storage or intended use, say so early. Our team will discuss what can be made and confirm the quotation and timing.
